Red Hot Summer

So I'm super excited to talk about this outfit! The temps here in Tulsa have reached high nineties with a heat index of 109... kill me...
Basically, you step outside and a trickle of sweat goes down your back, the sticky heat is instant.
Few layers + a breezy skirt is the way to go IMO (this one was almost too breezy... the wind took up my skirt and I ended up flashing my surroundings a couple times, oops you're welcome??)
What I LOVE about this dress is the structure of the top- it's a twist on a bustier type of structure, it holds in my dirty pillows quite nicely and I don't need a bra!! It's wonderful. Find you a dress that does the same- holds you in nice and tight and look for extra seam lines in the bust area, or look up 'bustier' on Google images to get a better visual if you need one.
Because seriously, if you could go without a bra, why wouldn't you?? All about freedom over here.
So with the ensemble I decided to stick to a red almost monochromatic scheme- with the red print dress, red shoes, PINK socks, red bag, and red hair tied wrapped around into a bow-headband. When the weight and heat of my hair became unbearable, I converted the tie to a ponytail holder by just wrapping it a few times and tying a loose knot around a low ponytail.
The socks in the sneakers give the ensemble a ready-to-run-errands feel; It's slightly juvenile but I dig that because I feel often I take myself too seriously.
A dress balanced by sneaks has been a go to summer look for me.

The pink offsets the red in an unexpected combination- which gives the vibe that the wearer is bold and unafraid! I promise, your clothes speak for you..
The red bag was the ultimate inspiration. A thrifted find , it's canvas and I discovered will double as an overnight bag because it is so roomy!
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoy fashion and gabbing about it as much as I do!
Till next time
Xoxo
