GRL PWR: Dressing up and down your new fave sweatshirt <3

Where do I even start?

Lemme tell you first, Tulsa peeps - in case you didn't already know, my fellow fashion lover and color popper Emily Horton from fashion school just opened her new store!!!! It's called F + F and it's filled to the brim with bright, funky, original, to-die-for designs.

Her store is a little version of her world -- trust me, you gotta check it out!! It's over on Peoria, right next to the Tulsa Ballet.

In there, you'll find so many references to childhood and pop culture. Color and at the same time minimalist, you'll feel right at home with her vibrant yet peaceful vibes.

SO. THE TOP.

GRL PWR aka girl power, I swear as soon as you put it on YOU FEEL IT. I feel confident and cozy and spunky all at once. It's the perfect neutral-gray--- which makes it easy to pair with virtually ANYTHING. I opted for a L so I could wear leggings and feel ultra cozy.

The first look, though, is a bit more GLAM. (you know how I do.) ALSO. Are you noticing those earrings??

GIANT red poms made by yours truly!! I'm selling several at F + F-- just another reason to go and visit the shop! ;)

I'm looking to expand soon -- with pop ups and possibly online selling.

BUT ANYWAY BACK TO THE OUTFIT.

I went to work in this outfit - I woke up and was honestly just feeling the GRL PWR and even though it's a sweatshirt and at first glance inappropriate office work wear - I was determined to make it work.

1. So the first thing I did was roll up the sleeves. They hang down naturally past my fingers, and so the cuff gives me a polished, clean, and finished feel.

2. Next was to add a little shape -- so I didn't look like I was yearning to drown in the fuzzy interior like a piggy in a blankie -- seriously it's SO SOFT. I grabbed a white, slim belt - easy, quick fix.

3-4. I already had a black-white-gray scheme going, so I tossed on my Hounds-tooth printed pants and then capped my feeties with my coveted Calvin Klein kitten pumps. LOVE these fellas, I found them at a super discounted price at Burlington Coat factory. (the pants came from my mom's closet originally. heh.)

5. So, I HAD to add some color and I also want to start supporting and advertising my work! So I slapped on my red poms and grabbed my red bag that is now pinned!! And stepped out feeling real good.

Ta-da!! I felt super confident and glam in this outfit - my two current favorite things to be.

So, later on that evening, I went out to play laser quest. I kept this sweatshirt on but changed virtually everything else -- I had to be ready and able to kick some butt!!

It's a simple change ---

Uncuff the sleeves

Drop the Belt

Change to leggings

Slap on some sox

Get those white nikes, gurl

Swipe on a hat

and head the f out

Honestly, this pic was taken the next day and I initially wore this outfit to do some last minute Halloween costume shopping. I kept my hair up and in the high pony for laser quest -- otherwise I would have been too dang hawt.

I've got my MAINE hat on - it's cute and blue and sparkly and has embroidered moon and stars on it. I thrifted that gem.

The leggings I found at a super cute boutique in Crested Butte, Colorado from my late spring trip this year. LOVE COLORADO FOREVER. <3 <3 <3 I'll be there soon.

The socks I swiped from my mom's drawer. Heh.

The nike shoes I found on depop -- an awesome trendy app for reselling and vintage buys!

My cat Wally really wanted to be involved. She likes to be involved in everything I do. <3

Well, that's it for now bbs, thanks a lot for checking in.

Remember to check out F + F in Tulsa or @frecklesandfairydust on insta

Dressing a thing up can be fun and unexpected!! Don't be afraid to play around with a thing that initially makes you feel "inappropriate."

And leave a comment behind! If ya don't mind ;D
